Eco Education Workshops: Hands-on environmental learning for schools, community groups, and organizations

We offer engaging, field-based workshops that connect people to local ecosystems in a practical, memorable way. Our sessions focus on native plants, biodiversity, and habitat restoration, with a strong emphasis on learning by doing.
Professional biologists and restoration practitioners lead workshops with over a decade of experience working in coastal BC ecosystems.

What We Offer: Our workshops are flexible and can be delivered in parks, schoolyards, or community spaces.
Topics can include:
  • Native plant identification and ecology
  • Invasive species and their impacts
  • Pollinators and urban biodiversity
  • Habitat restoration and stewardship
  • Backyard naturalization and ecological gardening
We can tailor content to different age groups and learning goals, from elementary students to adult learners.

What Makes Our Workshops Different?
Most
environmental education is either classroom-based or overly simplified.
We focus on real-world ecological knowledge, grounded in the work we do every day:
  • Hands-on, outdoor learning whenever possible
  • Local species and site-specific context
  • Led by experienced field professionals (not just educators)
  • Practical takeaways people can actually apply
Participants leave with a clearer understanding of how ecosystems function and how they can be part of restoring them.

Who These Are For
  • Schools (K–12 and post-secondary)
  • Community centres and municipalities
  • Environmental and stewardship groups
  • Corporate or volunteer events
If you’re looking for programming that is educational, engaging, and rooted in real ecological work, these workshops are a strong fit.

Format & Booking: Workshops can be structured in a variety of ways depending on your needs:
  • Indoor presentation with optional outdoor component
  • Fully outdoor, hands-on sessions
  • Short talks, half-day, or full-day programming
Each workshop is tailored to the group, location, and learning goals.
If you’re interested in booking or want to explore options, feel free to reach out with a bit of information about your group, and we can put together something that fits.

Our Experience: Our team has delivered environmental education through:
  • School programs reaching hundreds of students
  • Community workshops and guided walks
  • Volunteer stewardship events across Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island
We bring the same expertise used in professional ecological restoration projects into every workshop.
